4 Bengali hairstyles to try this Durga Puja

The excitement of Durga Puja starts a month before. People shop and discuss what they will wear on each of the nine days of celebration. The smell of dhuni, lights, sound, crowd, Bengali delicacies, fun rides and beautiful ensemble all add up to the magic of the festival. To finish the look, you must do your hair in a classic Bengali hairstyle to carry the style and ethnicity with grace. And what could be a better source of inspiration than our beloved Bollywood actresses. Take a cue here.

Classic Bong look

Vidya Balan is known to rock a saree with elegance not just in movies but in real life too. The
Parineeta star always has a touch of Bong in her dressing sense. Wear the saree Bengali style, swipe your hair to the side and pick a big bindi that matches the colour of your saree. You are good to go. Oh, don’t forget to do your eyes bold and almond-shaped.

Long black curls

Taking cue from Durga Maa; curl your hair and paint your hair parting with vermillion. Madhuri Dixit’s Chandramukhi look is the perfect example.

Rough side braid

If you can’t afford to manage open hair in all the hustle-bustle of the gala, tie your tresses in a braid that is side-swept. However, this hairstyle is not recommended for women with round face shape because it may make their face look fuller.

Tight bun

A bun with a traditional Bengali saree never goes wrong. Part your hair from the middle and tie them into a bun at the nape of your neck. Wear a big red bindi and heavily studded jewellery. Keep the saree simple and carry a small clutch.

Now that you know how to get the perfect Bengali look, go rock the Durga Puja celebrationslike a true Bengali!
